Privacy Policy

Your financial content stays local. Cascade does not connect to banks and does not upload payment amounts, balances, currencies, source labels, destination names, rules, notes, or backup contents.

Information stored on your device

Cascade stores your income rule sets, destinations, payment entries, allocation plans, checklist completion, payment presets, and settings locally using Apple’s on-device storage. You can delete this information from Cascade’s Settings.

Analytics and diagnostics

Cascade uses Firebase Analytics to understand broad product usage and Firebase Crashlytics to diagnose crashes. Cascade sends only a small set of predefined event names without custom financial parameters. Firebase may process app-instance and device identifiers, app and session activity, device and operating-system information, approximate geography, crash stack traces, and diagnostics. Cascade does not use this information for advertising or cross-app tracking and does not link it to an account or user profile.

Website and App Store links

The browser calculator runs locally and does not send payment amounts, category names or percentages to an analytics service. If you choose to create a reusable link or embed code, the category names, percentages and currency are included after the # in the calculator URL. Your payment amount is excluded. These settings are readable by anyone with the link, and may be stored in browser history, bookmarks, messages or the website where you publish the embed. Use general category names without account numbers or personal details.

The embedded calculator loads from Cascade’s website and runs the same local calculation. Cascade does not send its inputs to the website containing the embed. Ordinary hosting requests may include connection information such as an IP address; URL fragments are not sent in those requests. The embed code uses a no-referrer policy.

Website and App Store links may carry a fixed campaign label, such as “calculator”, “sharedsplit” or “embed”, so Apple can report aggregate App Store acquisition. Category names, percentages and payment amounts are never added to App Store links. Campaign labels do not identify a person. The website does not use analytics cookies or store a visitor identifier.

Authentication and privacy controls

If you enable app lock, Apple’s LocalAuthentication framework confirms device-owner authentication. Cascade does not receive, read, or store biometric data. The app-switcher privacy cover hides financial content when Cascade is inactive.

Exports and backups

JSON export is initiated by you. Cascade creates a temporary local file and shows Apple’s system share sheet. The export may contain your financial content, so you control where it is sent and stored. Cascade does not upload the export.

Reminders

Checklist reminders are scheduled locally through Apple’s notification system. Their visible text is generic and contains no amount or user-authored financial label.

Purchases

Cascade Pro purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Cascade receives only the verified entitlement needed to unlock Pro and does not receive payment-card details.

Advertising, tracking, and children

Cascade contains no advertising SDK, does not access the advertising identifier, does not sell personal information, and does not track people across apps or websites. Cascade is a general-purpose financial planning utility and is not directed to children.

Changes to this policy

If Cascade’s data practices materially change, this page will be updated before those changes are introduced in the app.
